After seeing a topic on FP last week about a Jiayu phone, i decided to
do more research on Chinese phone brands. Taking jiayu as a focal point,
i want to say that there are better Chinese products than tecno.
Tecno's popularity is as a result of being the first chinese company to
sell a "good" smart phone in Nigeria. Most tecno fans in
Nigeria(Nairaland especially) believes that tecno gives them "good"
phones at a "cheap" rate. That if tecno were to start making high end
phones, it'll be too expensive to buy. Now, i selected Jiayu because
they are even way behind tecno in sales but have good phones. Jiayu
makes budget phones of about 20k-40k naira which still has features such
as a snapdragon processor, corning gorilla glass and high RAM and ROM
capacity with good android versions(jelly bean 4.1 and 4.2). When such
companies enter Nigeria fully, Tecno will either sit-up or be left-out.
PS> I don't hate the Tecno Brand. I recommend it for people though i've hardly used one.
